We are excited to announce that Moves has been named a finalist in the App Category of Fast Company’s 2022 World Changing Ideas Awards, a major annual awards program seeking to elevate finished products and brave concepts that make the world better! Our mission of making the gig economy work for its workers has been recognized—and we couldn’t have done this without your support.

We’re doing this together

As a Moves member, you’re a part of our mission. Each of you plays a role in helping improve the gig economy for its workers. Over the past two years we’ve had hundreds of phone calls, rides, walks, and support tickets with you, where you’ve given your feedback, ideas, and goals for what Moves can be. The idea behind the Moves Collective, a way for gig workers to become owners in the companies they earn on came from these conversations with you. And now with hundreds of you joining the Moves Collective each day, this idea has become a reality.

Together, we also showed what gig workers owning stock can do to improve the gig economy with our first shareholder proposal to Uber—where we requested a new board member be elected that has direct experience earning in the gig economy. It’s just the beginning of our journey together to improve the gig economy, and getting an award like Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas gives us all recognition that we’re making a difference.

“As the gig economy continues to expand, it is essential that all its participants – in particular, its workers have a seat at the table in its direction and share in the value they help create. Having the Moves Collective recognized as a Fast Company World Changing Idea demonstrates that enabling gig workers to become owners can positively impact the lives of millions and support the sustainable growth of the gig economy for years to come.” – Matt Spoke, CEO
